Hacks, Euphoria, & Drag Race Enter Endgame Era: Gay AF Guide
Plus: Dan Levy makes Big Mistakes, Anne Hathaway is Mother Mary, Richard Gadd has a Half Man, and Colman Domingo debuts on SNL with musical guest Anitta.

Various beloved TV shows with queer characters, performers, and/or creators are ending in 2026. Fortunately, we’re (kind of) getting a final season for (most of) them. In the words of Sapphira Cristál, “Good is good.”
Below is a Gay AF Guide from yours truly: underlining the ongoing shows still airing new episodes throughout April, the brand-new TV series and seasons coming this month, and the upcoming films you might want to see in theaters.
Club Cumming — WOW Presents Plus
On the heels of his Emmy Award wins for hosting The Traitors on Peacock, Alan Cumming has launched a new limited series around Club Cumming — a New York City venue founded by the actor and reality TV host “where bold performers chase big dreams,” a synopsis reads.
When Cumming and The Traitors broke the RuPaul’s Drag Race winning streak at the Emmy Awards, I wrote for Out: “A celebration of two queer elders being accompanied by prestigious awards would’ve been unthinkable in previous generations.” That sense of community and collaboration spirit has now been applied to Club Cumming, and I love to see it.
New episodes of Club Cumming drop Mondays on WOW Presents Plus.
The Comeback Season 3 — HBO Max
“Jane… Jane!”
Gay Icon and so-called “queen of cringe” Valerie Cherish (Lisa Kudrow) is back-back-back again for a third and final season of The Comeback — and it’s honestly incredible to see how well this final chapter is being handled.
The Comeback season 3’s lineup of queer talent is an embarrassment of riches: Dan Bucatinsky, Jack O’Brien, Tim Bagley, Abbi Jacobson, John Early, and Zane Phillips. Oh, and did I mention that drag superstar Trixie Mattel makes a hilarious cameo competing in an in-universe version of The Traitors?!
New episodes of The Comeback season 3 drop Sundays on HBO Max.
Hacks Season 5 — HBO Max
Nearly every single character in Hacks is queer, Carl Clemons-Hopkins (Marcus) once told me, and the actor is right! I’m already mourning the end of this show, but I hope it delivers a fantastic ending for these beloved characters.
Season 5 is the final season of Hacks — And it’s not right, but it’s okay, given that the showrunners have said this for years. It just sucks we’re already here. In Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder) we trust.
Hacks season 5 premieres Thursday, April 9 on HBO Max.
Big Mistakes Season 1 — Netflix
Big Mistakes is Dan Levy’s first comedy series since Schitt’s Creek. That sentence alone would’ve sold me on it, but there’s so much more. The show follows a deeply closeted pastor named Nicky (Levy) and a chaotic, messy teacher named Morgan (Taylor Ortega).
Created by Levy and Rachel Sennott (Bottoms; I Love LA), Big Mistakes features legends like Laurie Metcalf (Lady Bird) and newcomers like Jack Innanen (Adults).
Big Mistakes season 1 premieres Thursday, April 9 on Netflix.
Saturday Night Live with Colman Domingo and Anitta — NBC/Peacock
My king, Colman Domingo, will host Saturday Night Live for the very first time this Saturday, April 11. My queen, Anitta, will also debut as SNL musical guest during the same episode.
I don’t think I need to say much else here. I’ll be unreachable during SNL hours this weekend.
Saturday Night Live with Colman Domingo (host) and Anitta (musical guest) airs Saturday, April 11 on NBC and Peacock.
Euphoria Season 3 — HBO Max
Euphoria season 3 is finally coming to our screens. Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, and Colman Domingo are all returning.
Eric Dane, who recently passed away, appears in season 3. Dominic Fike returns, too, and Rosalía enters the chaotic Euphoria universe.
Euphoria season 3 premieres Sunday, April 12 on HBO Max.
RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18 Finale — MTV
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 18 episode 15 — set for Friday, April 10 — will be a reunion/lip sync smackdown between season 18’s eliminated queens.
This year’s top 3 queens — Darlene Mitchell, Myki Meeks, and Nini Coco — will then compete to snatch the crown at the Drag Race season 18 finale.
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 18 finale airs Friday, April 17 on MTV.
Mother Mary (film)
With Michaela Coel playing Sam Anselm (a fashion designer) and Anne Hathaway playing the titular character (a pop singer), Mother Mary is a psychosexual thriller by A24 from writer/director David Lowery.
This cast is stacked: FKA Twigs, Hunter Schafer, Kaia Gerber, and Jessica Brown Findlay, to name a few. And don’t get me started on the bops that we’ll get from this in-universe pop star! There’s even a Greatest Hits teaser already.
Mother Mary premieres Friday, April 17 in theaters (tickets via A24).
➕ Also Coming Soon!
Half Man — HBO Max
Richard Gadd, the creator and star of Netflix’s Baby Reindeer and a proud bisexual man (just in case you didn’t know!) returns to our screens with Half Man, starring opposite Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers).
Half Man premieres April 23 on HBO Max.
Running Point Season 2 — Netflix

Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) and Sandy Gordon (Drew Tarver) are also returning later this month for the second season of Running Point. They must now deal with a much more ambitious and intense sibling, Cam Gordon (Justin Theroux), who appeared in season 1 but will be a much bigger character in season 2.
Running Point season 2 premieres April 23 on Netflix.
